VP of Social Media at AMP Agency, helping brands to get social.

Biography

I am the VP of Social Media at AMP Agency, the leader in inspiring brands with integrated digital and experiential marketing, where I lead the development and execution of strategic digital influencer and social media solutions for clients across a range of digital and social channels.

Combining industry-recognized experience and expertise with in-depth research to meet client goals, I develop and deliver integrated, impactful social media campaigns to achieve real business results.

Prior to joining AMP Agency, I served as an Enterprise 2.0 and social media strategist, evangelist, and community manager at EMC Corporation where I was directly accountable for the enterprise strategy development, planning, and execution of the social media marketing function for this $17B global Fortune200 global company, developing and executing award-winning social campaigns. During my time at EMC, I developed and drove social media strategy across the entire organization, identifying opportunities to integrate social media and community into the daily lives of employees, both internally as a team collaboration tool, and externally as a way to engage with customers, partners and prospects.

In this role, I successfully designed, launched, and managed an enterprise 2.0 employee community from inception to a combined contributor and lurker base of over 22,000 employees. Responsible for actively engaging the community, I also developed the tools, tips and best practices available to community members to enrich their community experience. Upon formally assuming ownership of EMC's social accounts, I grew their collective audience by nearly 500%.

I also enabled employees to integrate their marketing plans and objectives with social media tools by offering expert guidance and strategy consultation, best practices, use cases, and engagement guidelines for each tool. I established a strategy for participation in key social sites, broadening EMC’s footprint by bringing new ideas to the social media marketing program, maintaining relationships with industry bloggers and internal company contacts, and improving EMC’s marketing material by educating and supporting the use of video, photos, and other multimedia.

I'm a (retired) founding member of The 2.0 Adoption Council and serve on the Board of Directors for The Social Media Club, Boston Chapter and the Advisory Board for the Enterprise 2.0 Conference. I'm also a proud member of The Community Roundtable, Forte Foundation, and American Marketing Association, Boston Chapter.

On the education front, I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership. And I am a proud member of Delta Mu Delta, Delta Epsilon Sigma, Sigma Tau Delta, Kappa Delta Pi, the National Education Association, Social Networking & Media Association (SNAMA), and the Project Management Institute.

When I’m not online (which is incredibly rare), I enjoy reading, writing poetry, and spending time with family and friends. I am always interested in the latest information on social media, online collaboration and networking, and web technologies in general. And I have a strong passion for studying organizational behavior, change, and general organizational dynamics.
